 We talked a lot about poetry. It may seem boring to others and even me sometimes however, it gets people talking. Poems get people discussing and analyzing. And even debating. 

I Was absent on Monday. 

 Todays topic was really about life’s lessons. We talked about how life is simple and how us as people complicate life. Life is only hard when you make it harder for yourself. I want to make the best out of my life so I try to always try to do my best in everything and succeed. We also spoke about youth. Think about every action you make in life.. it will either have a positive or negative outcome. 

 We worked on our origin myth. Which we had the whole class period to do. But I went home after practice to complete my origin myth because I could concentrate better that way. Mr.Rease’a class is the most calmest and fun class. I love that the people we have in our class love to debate so that’s pretty cool. 

 Yesterday we worked on our origin myths. Origin myths consist of a lot of components which can be overwhelming. I have the theme that I want to be introduced in my story but it is still kind of difficult to put the whole origin myth together.

 Todays film was similar to yesterday’s film. We discussed people changing themselves to fit a certain standard. We then had a mini debate about women and their natural hair. Which I cant wait to bring up again for our class debate. Recently we’ve been working on origin myths. And we were able to listen to Mr.Rease’s myth which was incredible. I’ve started working on my origin myth even though I don’t quite enjoy reading origin myths. Im starting to enjoy reading other’s own creations of their origin myths. 

 I enjoyed todays class. What I now think is our daily routine we watched a film. The film really showed the effects of having to be a certain way for society. And how many people never really know who they are until they are older in age. We also spoke on stereotypes. And we were able yo see a picture of Mr.Rease when he was younger and I would have never guessed he was that type of person back in “ his days “ . We also learned about Native American, origins and myths. And how Native Americans would want us to give thanks for our harvests. 

 Today we watched another short film. Titled the final 3 minutes. We got to see the different stages of a man life’s from beginning to the end. And for me it really showed how life is really short. Ans also, how no matter what position you end up in in life everyone has a story to be told. We then took an assessment which was pretty easy to me. And it was Friday so that meant it was about to be the weekend! 

 Today I missed the first half of class. Due to a schedule change I wasn’t able to watch the first half of the film. But then we preceded to learn about figurative language. Which I really enjoyed. Idioms and alliterations have to be my favorite forms of figurative language. Today was a good day! 

 My purpose in life is to be the best me I can be… I have many goals I want to accomplish. Which is why I need to be the best me I can be. I want to succeed in high school so I can continue on to graduate. And then go to college and work in the law field. To get a good job and to be able to give my mom anything she wants. The law I am looking into is trial, healthcare, injury and maybe even family.. I am still undecided but I know my purpose in life is to be the best me I can.. because life waits for no one!

  Today we spent time reading and analyzing. Effort is everything. Success is NOT the traditional way of life that people have been made to believe it is. Success is more than just being smart or being talented. It’s not fancy cars or clothes and shoes. Success is effort. By putting in effort you can take advantage of any opportunities and reap the benefits. We also discussed how knowing where you come from is important.. sometimes we are made to believe certain things and sometimes things are not as they seem! 

 We learned about informal and formal conversations and “ paperwork “. Informal language includes slang. And formal language includes sophisticated vocabulary. 

 My name is Taschina Rolland. I go to Cedar Grove High school and I am 16 years old. Im originally from Atlanta Georgia. Some things I like to do for fun are going shopping, going out to eat and spending time with friends and family. Three goals I want to achieve this year are making all a’s, Doing good on all test and being in the top percentage of my junior class.
